Kids and Smoking Parents...

Some Sad Stories

 I have a father who smokes almost a half a pack a day. I don't know if the quit smoking products they sell in pharmacies would help him or not. I am willing to do anything to make him stop smoking, for my safety and his.


My parents smoke a lot and the house stinks because they smoke inside. Even when they go out, the furniture, the curtains, the carpet, everything stinks. The worst part of it is I can smell them come into my bedroom without looking up. This is horrible and I don't know how to tell them. I hope I don't become a smoker like them. Some of my friends at school are already smoking at 15 and I try to convince them not to. My parents won't even care if I start. Cigarette smoking is a real disaster. Sometimes I get a headache from the smoke and I restrict my breathing so to minimize the amount of smoke into my lungs.


It is a known fact that kids that are raised in a smoking environment will end up smoking sooner or later. Most smoking parents don't even try keeping their kids away from smoking. How can you convince a kid not to smoke because it is a bad habit when you do it yourself? Kids look up to their parents and follow their trail.
I could say that a parent smoker is directly responsible for his kids becoming smokers. This is a big responsibility, specially when you think about the possible future effects on his health.
